I've also spread out my blogs. I now have three. This one, a music one, and a review one.
This one is for random shit, the music one is for random music stuff and reviews, and the review one is reviews of anything except music. Dear NDS Developers

I love my Nintendo DS. However I am tired of being forced to use the touch screen as a control method. The main feature of the Nintendo DS is the Dual Screen, not the touch screen. I realize that the touch screen is enticing, and is actually rewarding to use when implimented correctly. That said most games are extremely dissapointing because they force you to use the touch screen. The games that use the second screen even if just as a map are far more useful to me, than trying to force a "new" feel of control with the touch screen. Being able to look up on the top (or down on the bottom) at a second screen to see a map, information, items, or what have you, without having to press start and browse to it. That said to the developers that did a great job with stylus control I do applaud you for trying it, and doing it well. To the developers that tried it and failed, I still applaud you for trying, but I prefer you not try on big name games. All of this applies equally to Wii developers also.

59 Games that need (good) remakes/sequels/Graphic updates

This is my own list of games that I feel need either a remake/sequel/graphical update or just reprint because I cna't find it. I am including things merely for graphical upgrades, so the list is probably a lot longer than need be. I am not adept at this, but I will try to include to wikis and videos. The list is also in no particular order. I would not consider myself a hardcore gamer, and I'd say most of the games are obvious choices. Also since this list is long I'm not embedding pictures or video, but linking to save some space. Feel free to correct any misinformation and such things and if you've got better video links let me know too. There are a few entries which I didn't know had already been done but I left them in the list so other people would know also. I'm also curious to see / hear what other games people would like to see so leave comments! Finally please excuse grammar/typing issues. Better yet leave a comment so I can fix them. I'm sure there are plenty.

1. Team Buddies

This was the game that, without fail, every trip to my local Family Video was rented by me. It was a game that rented for a dollar and I easily spent 60-70 dollars renting the game. I was devastated when I found out they sold it (turns out my buddies cousin bought it). Anyway, that aside, the story is pretty simple: The introduction shows it all. During a disco, something drops boxes in the shiny happy (and colourful) world. The boxes are filled with ammunition and guns. It's been ages since I've played but I do remember the way you arranged these crates on your home base changed which weapon it would produce. You could create an array of guns, and other NPC's to help you. The story mode was awesome, and (extremely towards the end) difficult. The best thing about it was the multiplayer mode. Four standard modes (deathmatch and the like) up to four characters. I'd like a remake or a sequel to this game. I'd like to see online multiplayer, more weapon/character/vehicle/ variations, that sort of thing. Also a graphical update, but with the same colourful, cheery, kidlike graphics.

2. Jet Grind Radio / Jet Set Radio Future

I know there's the remake for the Xbox. For this game, I'd like more character variation, another great soundtrack, and you can see my MMO based idea from the game. More a sequal than a remake (since there is the Xbox one) there should definitely be more levels. Here's the first ten minutes of it.

3. Chrono Trigger

Ok, so there was the PlayStation sequal Chrono Cross, which I did enjoy. then there was the remake with anime cutscenes for the PlayStation, the Radical Dreamers game, and now the one for the Nintendo ds. To me though these all seem to be pretty much direct ports with feature updates. The game really just needs a graphical upgrade in my opinion. Keep the things from the PlayStation one (extras section, not needing a million slots to get all the endings). For you weirdos who haven't played it here's some gameplay footage.

4. Dynamite Headdy

I stole this game from my aunt a few times to play it. It's just been released for Virtual Console, but I want to see a full remake or sequel. More levels, different types of heads you can get, and a (of course) graphics update. Gameplay footage of the second stage.

5. Super Mario RPG

Bowser and Peach/Toadstool on the same team is brilliant. I loved this game, the story, the rpg, the platforming it was great all the way through. Really though it holds several generations later and I only mention it for graphic updates really. even so it still looks really good. If you're lucky you'll even see Bowser kiss Mario. Gameplay footage.

6. Einhander

Technically there's (what I believe correct me if I'm wrong) an Umlaut over the 'a' (Don't know how to do it). This side scrolling shooter for the psx was one of the best I've ever played. I found it quite difficult also. A sequel or remake would have to include a few things: updated graphics, improved length, more ships (I think there's 3 and you can unlock two), and multiplayer. 7. E.V.O: Search for Eden

yeah there's Spore, but to be honest I felt that was more like a sim. This game was a platformer rpg. You started off as a little fish and have to keep evolving yourself through five ages. I don't care if it's a sequel or a remake, but it needs a graphical update, and it can do with a lot more options now that we're not relying on cartridges for space. (For console games anyway). 8. Comix Zone

You play your way through panels of a comic book. All I want to see is some smoother fighting, and updated graphics. Still a side whatever, but at a much higher quality. Something like the new Streetfighter II comes to mind. Breaking the dead space between a panel will never be forgotten. Gameplay footage

9. Metal Warriors

This was a game a friend of mine had and it took me years to find out the name of it. A side scrolling game where you can also use mechs. There was a versus mode too. Asking for a remake/sequel of this might seem like asking for another armored core, but I want it kept 2d. More levels, more suits, better graphics, etc. the usual desires here. Gameplay footage

10. Xenogears

Same battle system, same characters same game just with much much better graphics, and in the small multiplayer part more Gears. I know there's the Xenosaga series which isn't a sequel or a remake but a different game with the same style in my own opinion. I loved this game, and still play it all the time. Gameplay footage

11. Yanya Cabbalista

Aliens invade! It appears their only weakness is. . .skateboarding!? That's the premise for this lovely game. It originally came with one of those finger skateboards designed to fit over both analog sticks of the PlayStation to and you would play holding the controller sideways (it did allow for regular controls though). This game being a PlayStation two game doesn't really need much in graphic updates. I'd like to see some though, tightened controls, and more characters, more levels that sort of thing. Unfortunately I can't seem to find gameplay footage of the game.

12. Gitarooman

Why yes it did have to be on this list! A great music/rhythm game. I'm fine with the original. I do know there's a rerelease for the PSP. I still can't beat Masters Mode and the multiplayer was fun. Release a sequel, doesn't even need the same characters (well. maybe Puma), it just needs more of the awesome soundtrack and songs to play. The second stage

13. Kirby's Dream Course

Kirby with his special move as a golf ball, in a miniature golf type of game. This was another one of those ridiculously fun games I played a lot. It's got multiplayer too! I'd like to see remake with a lot more levels, power ups, and better graphics. Here's some guy getting holes in one as if it were easy.

14. Mario Teaches Typing

Yes you read that right. I decided this a few years ago my freshman year of High School. We had to learn to type using some shitty programs. Ainsworth and Microtype. Fuck those. Mario Teaches Typing had three characters, classic Mario look, everything. Even if they just reprint this for cd's I'd get it. If they boosted the graphics it'd be awesome. oh also turn off the sound. It's horrible. Fix the sound, update graphics and I'd sleep with the game.

15. Cool Spot

One player sidescrolling platformer based on the 7-up mascot. This game was fun, and challenging. Apparently there's a 3d version on the PlayStation. I want the original version with better graphics, and perhaps a few more actions. Remains to be one of my favorite platformers. Gameplay footage

16. Felix the Cat

This game was great but needs to be updated for everything. Needs way more forms of Felix, updated graphics, more levels. There was some release of it for some Nintendo handheld but it had fewer levels and was basically the same. The story however can be left alone if I remember correctly which I probably don't.

17. Tetrisphere

Ummmm it's Tetris. On a sphere. This is one of my favorite versions and, in my opinion, hardest versions of Tetris ever. There were several modes of play, basically I just need a reprint or a direct port with graphic updates or something. Gameplay footage

18. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy

A sequel. Please. I loved this game. It had plenty of bonuses, great game all around. Make a sequel with multiplayer. Right. Now.

19. Incredible Crisis

It's basically WarioWare with a story, and nowhere near as fast paced (which I like). Minigames with cutscenes essentially but the story is funny, the game fun.

20. Pokemon Snap

Honestly I'm surprised this hasn't been done. now that there's what like 500 Pokemon now, I would have thought they'd have updated this game ages ago. They need to update it with the new pokemon (yes I know blahhhh new pokemon suck etc), more items and better grading scale. This game was extremely fun for the hour and a half it took to beat. 21. Mystical Ninja Starring Geomon

There are a few different Geomon games but this is the one I really like, and want remade, with better graphics. Or failing that a longer sequel, with more characters in addition the original playable (four I think) ones. This is what I played while everyone else played Banjo-Kazooie (I never could get into that game). Commercial

22. Intelligent Qube

Apparently there's been sequels all over. Obviously not here in the USA so bring them all over here. This is one of the best and hardest puzzle games I've ever played. We all know where you played it too: Playstation Magazine demo disc. Anyway watch those blocks dissipate.

23. Sky Gunner

Aeriel dog-fighting animeish type game. I really liked it although apparently it didnt do to well. Really it just needs a reprint as it's a PlayStation 2 game and thus not that old but I can't seem to find it. Gameplay Footage

24. Brain Lord

A great action rpg. The puzzles were challenging, the combat system was fun, and the story good. A game that could definitely use a graphical upgrade. Gameplay footage

25. Megaman Legends

Oh man this game needs graphic updates. There was a sequel that I can never find to play. Also probably could use a few more arm extensions (I used the vacuum cleaner most of the time) . Also come on how can you forget Data, that cute little monkey thing. Gameplay foootage

26. Red Asphalt

Everyone remembers Twisted Metal (Spectre ftw). This game is Twisted Metal -but you have to finish the race too. This game was hard as hell, but fun. A remake or a sequel just needs amped graphics, more cars and more varied power ups. Gameplay footage

27. Jewel Master

This is another game I loved but for the longest time didn't know what the title was. I eventually just started going through the list of Genesis games until I found it. This was a sidescrolling action adventure or whatever game. Anyway mixing magic rings was fun as hell. The game could do with a remake with a LOT more levels, as the original game was extremely short. Of course the usual graphic updates bit. Gameplay footage

28. Firestriker

This game was weird. It's kind of like an Arkanoid game with a human player instead of a paddle, who can move. It was pretty fun and needs a graphic update. My favorite thing was the multiplayer however, and that could do with more than 2 players. Gameplay footage

29. Rollcage

Another shooter racer game. I just want a new version of this (Rollcage 2 was not enough) to have updated graphics and maybe more tracks and drivers. Oh and maybe some more power ups. Gameplay footage

30. Star Tropics

I never played II, but even so, the games could do with a whole graphic overhaul. I rather enjoyed the (slightly bizarre) story and the gameplay was great. Maybe add some more weapon variety. If the music doesn't make you dance you have no soul.

31. Crystalis

One of my favorite games ever. Of course there was the shitty Game Boy Colour version but I pretend that doesn't exist. An rpg, excellent story, it just needs updated graphics / sound. Seeing the sword effects this generation would be awesome. Gameplay footage

32. Paperboy

There are several remakes and ports of this game, but none for the newer systems insofar as I know (excluding XBox Live Arcade which is a classic version) Full 3d updated graphics are a must and better controls also. With the analogue stick too it should be much easier to aim and such. I don't recall the sound but as I played it on the gameboy I believe it could probably do with sound updates too. 33. Base Wars

The ONLY baseball game I ever liked, and despite my lack of love for baseball I've tried a lot of them. Baseball with fighting robots. Graphic update, controls update, and I can't remember the sound for anything again I just assume it needs an update. Baseball robot goodness

34. The Guardian Legend

It's been ages since I'ev played this shoot 'em up. So I can't really say anything but graphics, sound, more levels, the usual ilk. Gameplay footage

35. Micro Machines

Well looking at the wiki apparently there's a few sequels. Wow I didn't know. So this is just filler to make my list look bigger. I really did enjoy this racer though and will need to find one of these sequels. Gameplay footage

36. Ecco the Dolphin

Never played the Dreamcast one and anyway mine was stolen in the third break in. So operating under the assumption that it looks bad, plays bad, and was bad, this needs pretty much what the Dreamcast one did. Updated graphics, sound, and to be in 3d. Here's a video of the Dreamcast one I never played or heard of.

37. Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

It's got a Virtual Console counterpart but fuck that. The game is short as hell. This was my favorite Kirby game to play. I loved mixing powers and I can't understand why it's been taken out of every other Kirby game. This needs an all out update graphic wise, sound wise, and to add a ton more copy abilities and mixing possibilities. Ignore the annoying guy unless it's your kind of thing. Some of the combos.

38. Blaster Master

Great story, great gameplay, and a fucking awesome car. This game needs nothing but a huge graphics update and perhaps some control tweaking. Improved sound of the classic music though. Gameplay footage

39. Zombies Ate My Neighbours!

Remains to be one of my favorite zombie games even after all these years. Just update the hell out of everything. Virtual Console doesn't count. Also forget about that sequel. . . Gameplay footage.

40. Secret of Mana

Now I know there have been a million and one terrible sequels/prequels. I want the original remade with updated sound and graphics. Don't forget to keep the multiplayer which needs to be tweaked so that using ring menus doesn't effect the other players because it's my only complaint. Also Flammie in 3d cute bad ass. 41. Illusion of Gaia

Another awesome RPG. Not much was different about it, but it was a solid game throughout. Update the graphics. Maybe add a few forms too. But mainly just the graphics. Gameplay footage

42. X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse

Side scrolling beat 'em up and probably my favorite. This game was extremely difficult, but fun. It needs a side scrolling beat 'em sequel with more combinations/attacks, more characters and updated graphics/sound. Wolverines Level

43. Battletoads and Double Dragon

My second favorite of the above games variety. Just needs updated graphics and up to four player multiplayer. Gameplay footage

44. Vectorman

Again there was a sequel, but I want a full on graphic update with better sound. This was a fun game and I preferred it over everyones love of Earthworm Jim. Also you KNOW you went to the sound test and moved it as quckly as you could to get it to say "Destroy Vectorman". Gameplay footage

45. MDK

It needs a rerelease with updated graphics. This and it's sequel were fucking awesome games. The story was a bit odd, but the gameplay was fun as hell.

46. REZ

Well apparently what I wanted, a graphics update has already happened. So go on XBox Live Arcade and download REZ HD. This game was an awesome rail shooter. Gameplay footage

47. Space Channel 5

So apparently there was a "version 2" release. Well bugger me. It needs a reprint though because I haven't seen any of them in recent years. Gameplay footage

48. Skies of Arcadia

Dreamcast and Gamecube had it. This game was awesome, and I miss it. At the very least it needs a reprint as I haven't seen it much, but I'm pulling for graphics update. Although there are rumours for a new one. Hope there true! Gameplay footage

49. Fur Fighters

I don't really remember this game much to be honest. I just remember that it was weird, and fun as hell. Which is plenty enough for me. Rerelease on any system I would be fine with, perhhaps some graphical tightening and the like. Gameplay footage

50. Evolution: The World of Sacred Device

Ok I was the only person I know who loved this game. I loved every bit of it. I think though that moving from Dreamcast to Evolution Worlds on the gamecube was a terrible choice. This game needs some graphical kick to it. Therefore it's on my list for graphics update and rerelease. Gameplay footage

51. Looney Tunes B-Ball

I've tried a lot of basket ball games but this is by far my favorite. Special shots to score, special moves, and Looney Tunes. I've put a lot of thought into this: I want a full on remake with more characters/specials, that sort of thing. Second, if not a remake, a game based off it with Disney characters. Third, and probably my most preferred and probably blasphemous choice, a remake with Disney characters also. So kind of a combination of my first two. Gameplay footage

52. Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicles

A Europe exclusive game (yes I've played it. Awesome friends :D) A weird little platformer for the Playstation 2. Update the graphics and release it (globally). Game Preview

53. Parasite Eve

Survival horror rpg type thing. It was kind of weird (The battle system was awesome though) but a great game and sequel nonetheless. They need to be rereleased with updated graphics. Gameplay footage

54. Vagrant Story

A Dungeon Crawler. This game was awesome from beginning to end, and definitely needs to updated with some sort of sequel, or just a graphics bump. "Break Arts" footage

55. Legend of Dragoon

I stayed up three days straight playing this game with only bathroom/water breaks. This is one of my favorite RPG's and I still own the game. The plot and gameplay were excellent. It needs a sequel or just a graphical update. Dragoon Transformations footage

56. Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite!

Yeah bite me. This game was great (and hard). A console version would be nice, or a handheld graphic update. Gameplay footage

I'll be honest. I've never played any of the sequels. So I don't know if a "sequel" is a bad idea or not. But I'd like the original game with graphics update. I loved the t.v. loving gecko and the game was an extremely fun platformer. Gameplay footage of the second game on the Nintendo 64

59. Tail Concerto

Playing a dog in a mech, with evil cats? Yeah this game was brilliant. A platformer that I loved for the playstation. A remake with graphics update would be awesome. I thought the story was pretty interesting but the whole game was really good. Redo the voices though -.-;; It's a shame it didn't do too well. The First Boss Fight

I'm still working on the next post (it's long) but I'm kind of busy: I'm desperately searching for a job, and no one in three cities seems to want to hire me. But anyway I'm hoping to have it up ~2weeks.

6 Things GoogleMaps Needs

1. The list of locations on the left? Definitely needs an "autoalphabtize" feature. I have somewhere ~ 100 points on My Lost Ring Maps. It takes me two full minutes to move an "a" from the bottom to the top. Pure annoyance. Also, reverse alphabetical.

2. Same editing list needs to be collapsable (which it is) but also, expandable. Sometimes you just want/need to edit a lot of stuff in that not the map. and it's a bit small for my tastes.

3. Pretty much the same thing for the map list above the locations list. I currently have four maps and am expecting at least two more. Scrolling isn't too bad yet, but still.

4. On public maps, you should be able to "lock" what icons they can use. For example on my player map, I would like for everyone to be a male/female icon. It would be easier if that's all they could choose from

5. When you are in your map, and you search for a location, don't take me back to regular googlemaps forcing me to change back to the one I was editing. I know what I'm looking for to add a point, and don't want to switch back, mess with zooming etc.

6. An export other players maps option. My suggestion is something along the lines of this: on any map you see, put an "export link" this will let the owner know that you would like to export it. He/She then approves/disapproves of it. If I see a map that caters exactly to my needs I know I can "save to my maps". However I can't edit it. So if they're using icons that I don't like, or I want to have my maps all use a specific set this is hard to deal with especially if it crosses over with other maps. So being able to "import" it and allowing me to edit it as my own map would be very useful, so I don't have to "save to my maps", make a new map, overlay the two, and add points that way.

If anyone has any other things they'd like to see in googlemaps feel free to comment! Also if GoogleMaps DOES do this and I merely haven't found the options yet let me know!

My (incomplete) MMO Based on JSR

Hey. Who remembers Jet Set Radio (Future too)? I do. I miss that game to pieces (and I'll be buying JSRF for my xbox again shortly). Skating around tagging stuff. That was fun. So, thusly my MMO idea is based off that game.

1. I don't care about graphics much. I never have and since my pc doesn't even have a graphics card and barely plays halo, I like low end stuff. However I know some people like up-the-ass-graphics. So my first point is to keep it customizable. Don't make it just so it caters to high end pc gamers.

2. Don't make the controls retarded as hell. Actually you know what? Fully customizable controls. I hate not being able to change things to my preferences. If I want to look with arrow keys instead of a mouse hey that's my business. As such I figure basic WASD movement control scheme. use mouse to camera angle move and clicking would enable spraying. something among those lines. WASD for movement and zxcv for tricks or something. I'm not picky.

3. Modes: Singleplayer. Yes. I demand a single player. I know it's an MMO, but some people just don't have the internet, are shy, etc. keep a decent story line going. I don't care what it's about or how generic it is.
Multiplayer: Obviously this is an MMO idea. So this is the meat. My idea for it is thusly: (excluding any sort of plot) Basically you create your own "hood". In it you create "lines (a la tony hawk or something) that you have to hit while graffiti'ing. that "steals" that particular part of your area. Think tony hawks paint but with a whole internet following, and that you customize what they have to do.
Multiplater (Gang Mode): same as multiplayer but with "group/gang" neighbourhoods.
Freeplay/quickplay: the usual. If I have to explain it, (no it doesn't matter I'm not going to)

4. Needs a kick ass application that will play your songs in game: failing that being possible (hey I have no idea), a good soundtrack across the board. rock/alt/pop/everything. (I don't use genres so I just put vague ones) and that soundtrack should be able to put it on a playlist you desire, or at least keep it in-genre.

5. Options: Besides the ones already mentioned: customizable neighborhood lines, etc. importing/creating tags is a MUST. how else will the things be creative to tears, bored to tears, etc?
